Natina Reed of R&B Group Blaque Has Passed Away

We are saddened to report that Natina Reed of the R&B group Blaque has passed away.

According to reports, she was struck by a car early Saturday morning (Oct. 27) as she was crossing an Atlanta,GA street. Police confirmed that it was not a hit-and-run and the driver will not be charged.

Blaque member Shamari “Fears” DeVoe confirmed Natina’s death via twitter.

“My heart and my soul is in so much pain. My sister, my best friend, I will always love you.” Shamari continued. “My world as I know it has forever changed. Until we meet again, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel. I love you Natina.”

Natina Reed and the group Blaque rose to fame in the 1990s with their hit single “808.” Natina was the protégé of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes as the rapper in the group. She was also known for her feature role in the movie Bring it On alongside Gabriel Union in 2000.

Natina is survived by her 10-year-old son, whose father is rapper Kurupt.

This past Saturday was Natina’s 33rd birthday.
