For almost a decade, rappers 50 Cent and Fat Joe have been intertwined in a hip hop beef with each other. However, due to the untimely death of music industry executive, Chris Lighty, the two decided to “bury the hatchet”.
Recently, 50 did an interview explaining how he admired that Fat Joe still had the utmost respect for Lighty after his death, despite his closeness with him:
” Chris would always try to talk to me like, ‘Why don’t y’all sit down and let that go?’ And I would be like, ‘Get outta here, man’. “And then when he passed, Joe showed him a lot of respect. And he didn’t have to… So when he did that, it changed my perspective.”
The story behind 50 Cent and Fat Joe’s beef is pretty complex and extensive. Back in 2004, in the midst of 50 Cent’s infamous feud with Ja Rule, he began “taking shots” at everyone associated with him, but Fat Joe was one of 50’s direct targets. Mad over their collaboration on Ja Rule’s smash track “New York“, 50 began a feud that has lasted almost a whole decade!

It’s nice to see these two squash their beef in the name of their beloved friend, Chris Lighty.
